This location suited our needs. We were able to drive in and out without any complications. We used the walking trail located close to this site, so got our fitness needs. This trail provided walking distance to the town center. The staff was and is always professional, courteous, and very personable. We appreciated that they talked with us as if we knew each other. The breakfast area seemed a bit crowded due to its popularity and constant use. They had the typical hotel breakfast amenities---eggs, meat, bread products, cereal but also a cinnamon roll counter next to the coffee/drink area. Of course, we "had to" have a cinnamon roll with our coffee!

The view overlooking the river was wonderful! Even more, unlike so many other hotels, the window could be opened, so as to enjoy the breeze and the coastal fresh air, as well as the relaxing sounds of the river and wildlife. The bed was very comfortable. The fireplace in the room was a nice addition. Breakfast overall was better than what one fines at most other hotels. The food was of good quality and was tasty. The seating for breakfast was abundant, something lacking at other hotels.

The staff personally checked other rooms and found us a river view room that was almost completely finished with all the handicap features functional. This is the perfect location to tour not only Astoria but also the Long Beach Peninsula a few miles to the north and the Seaside/Cannon Beach area to the south. The free breakfast is very well presented and offers a better-than-average selection and quality of food and drinks. The hotel is an excellent place to watch the river traffic from, and we enjoy that aspect very much.

Location is best of all hotels in Astoria. Definitely pay for riverview room - we had a panoramic view right under the bridge. Note they are in midst of renovations - they did a superb job of limiting the disruptions. New design looks amazing. Breakfast surprisingly decent
